Milk Investagation

Yesterday we did a Milk Investigation. We had to predict if the Milk will freeze. We used 3 different types of Milk. Which were Condensed Milk, Light Blue Milk and Up and Go. Here are some pictures:-)

Milk Investigation :
Words -
(Trying to understand the concept of change)
You can change Milk Powder (something solid)
into liquid milk.
Solid Define: Firm, Stable in Shape. Which can be formed
into liquid.
Help: Water , Milk and Dice. Personally I think that it changes by the size.
Meaning: Liquid: Not Stable or Fluid
When the liquid is poured into a solid object it changes it’s physical appearance.
Our Result
The Condensed Milk didn't freeze, because it doesn't contain water.  Without water Milk cannot freeze. The  Light blue milk and the Up and Go did freeze. This indicated that Milk contains Water.

WHAT YOU NEED: a selection of 3 different type of milk
clear container

WHAT TO DO: Put  an equal volume of each type of milk in a clear container
Place each container in the freezer
Record what happens to each type of milk as it freezes.  Note its colour, texture and shape.
Record the time it takes to each variety to freeze.

Type of milk
What it looked like once it had frozen
Time taken to freeze
It didn't freeze, because Condensed Milk doesn't contain water.

Light Blue Milk
The Light Blue Milk did freeze, because it contains water. It contained the most ice.

Up and Go contains alot of ingredients. It did freeze. It had a chocolate colour.

20.06.24 My From Mrs Pole Farewell

Today was very Emotional, Touching, and Moving day.  We have to farewell  Mrs Pole.
We have a whole school Mass. There were lot of people in the Church. Most of them were Ex students, Parents, Families and the School. The mass went really well. Luckily nobody shed tears.

The most important part from the mass, for me was when the Presentation was presented. There were alot of sweet words spoken about Mrs Pole.
It was very cool when the Year groups (that Mrs Pole taught) all spoke about Mrs Pole.

Farewell Mrs Pole

Dear Mrs Pole....

Thank you everything you've done for our school. You are probably the most Loving, Generous and Helpful teacher I've ever met.

Reading Activity : On Frog Pond :-)

It's early morning on frog pond. As the sun rises, light sparkles on the pond . All sorts of
pond animals are waking up.A busy day is beginning.
At the edge of the pond, a little green frog sits on a  in the water. He
is hidden here among the  floating plants. He keeps very still and very quiet.
His big, bulging eyes are watching. He's watching for dragonflies. He's watching for
slugs and worms. He's looking for flies. This little frog is hungry for insects.
Someone else is hungry too. A dragonfly hums softly above the water. She is a fierce hunter, hungry for insects. She hovers near a clump of insects . She can fly in any direction, even backwards and  sideways. Like the frog, she has very
big ears . Suddenly she spots a fly crawling up a tree. She swoops down like an arrow and grabs the  fly with her powerful front legs. Gripping it
tightly , she munches away at it with her sharp teeth  parts.
The little frog has seen all this before . He turns very slightly. He's ready to pounce, But he keeps very still. He hopes that the insect will take off towards him when she's finished hunting. He hopes she won't notice him sitting still on the  green grass among the pondweed. Soon she flies away.
Personally I think that this activity was a tricky one.
All the words highlighted in Yellow is my answers.
If I get them wrong please comment down below and help me out!!!
Here is a new site I discovered:-)

Expressive Writing

09.06.14 Expressive Writing
I'm going to write about my experience in Samoa, The first time I went to the Beach. I hope you enjoy it.
Water , Cold, Sand, Nice, Tropic, Paradise..

An average day in Samoa, Hot air and  a wild climate.
The sun was boiling, It drenched me with  sweat. I was  dying to get into the icy, chilled water. Finally I get  into the crisp water.
All of that sweat has been removed by the shivering water. It’s like I can breath now.  The icy cold water removed all my pain. As we walk out, the hot thick air arrives.
The paradise ends, The wind gets colder.
Because of that Cold, Icy water.

As I think of the memories I had with my family, I startle and think about the beach.Such Memories:-)

Main Idea of the Mocking Jay

06.06.14 What’s the Main Idea of The Hunger Games Mockingjay
I’ve just starting reading the book, but I have a understanding of what’s going. I’ve watched Catching Fire and I have a fair understanding from it. The book talked about how District 12 was destroyed, because of what Katniss did. During the 75th Hunger Games  Katniss Everdeen destroyed the arena.
I know it’s gonna get much deeper into the book.

My Writing Prompt : Describe the youngest person you know
I know alot of young babies, the youngest of them all Pio. He is like any other baby expect that his very, very chubby. He has fat  cheeks and little eyes. He loves eating food, and loves to be around people. Pio always dribbles and plays. He reminds me of my baby sister Annabelle. They both have alot in common. Annabelle loves to eat and play.
She has those chubby cheeks and adorable eyes. I love them both. Here is my description on what Pio looks like:-)

06.06.14 Writing Prompts
My Writing Prompt: Describe one time when you were brave.

Personally I think that alot of people go through alot each day. To get through does things you have to be brave. Whether you're going to a interview, or even saying a speech. The most important key, is to be Brave.

There was this one time last year, I didn’t know how to ride a bike. We went for a ride around the park and I finally found my balance, until something happened. I was going really fast until I crashed in a rock. I felt really, really numb and sore. I have a scar under my eye and above it.  I knew I had to be brave. So now I’ve learnt from my mistakes.

06.06.14 Writing Prompts
Betuful butterfuly.jpg lol.png
Here is my Writing Prompt : Imagine you were a wonderful painter and your parents would let you paint anything you wanted on your bedroom walls. What would you paint? Use lots of details to describe your artwork.

If I were a artist I would express myself onto the wall. Like for example ; If I were to love dancing so much I would paint things that relate to that. In other words I would express my life into painting.
I would paint flowers and things that represent me. In general I’m half Samoan half Niuean. I would paint there flags. I love butterflies and Flamingoes so I would paint those. All main colour of the wall would be Pink to represent my gender. The butterflies to represent the world around me, and the Flags to represent my culture.
Here are all the features or things I would paint in my room.
19.05.14 Expressive  Writing
My Writing Goals
For this piece of writing I going to try and use a variety of Sentences.
Simple, Compound, and Complex
Do you have any brothers or sisters? If you do, tell what they're like. If not, tell whether or not you would like to have a brother or sister.

I have 5 sisters (In Total), Two are half sisters. My older sister is Suzanne (she’s one of my half sisters) and she’s 21. She has alot of friends and loves to read. Most of the time she’s home, she’s either sleeping or studying.
My younger sister is Alecia, and she’s 10. She loves
watching movies and reading. Alecia was born a year after me. She also likes going over to a relatives house. Alecia loves to socialize especially  when going to work functions.
My younger sister is Angeline , and she’s 4. She loves playing with friends and loves going to school. Angeline is very naughty. She  loves going on school trips and loves watching Frozen.
My last yonger sister is Annabelle, and she’s 1. She also loves watching Frozen and eating baby food. I love Anabelle because she gives me company. Another reason why I love her is because she’s my youngest sister. Annabelle loves to play with her Cousins:-)

Now you know all about my Siblings:-)

The Holy Spirit

In Room 7 we had to read the Scripture
Mark 1:9-11. This Drawing is about Jesus being baptised in the river Jordan. It also shows how the Holy Spirit formed as a dove talked to Jesus. We had to draw a picture reflecting on the scripture.
Here is my drawing =

New Zealand

New Zealand Zealand is an island country that is made up of two major islands called the North Island and the South Island.  It is situated in the South Pacific. The capital city is Wellington but the largest city is Auckland.

Most people in New Zealand speak English but the Maori language is also spoken there by about 4% of the population. After the Second World War, Maori were discouraged to speak their language but in 1987 their language was declared as official language too. Many places now have dual Maori and English names.
Maori were the first people who came to New Zealand from Polynesia. New Zealand was first discovered by Europeans in 1642 when Dutch sailor Abel Tasman arrived. He left New Zealand because several members of his crew were killed by Maoris. Then in 1769 English Captain James Cook arrived and mapped the land. Elizabeth II is officially Queen of New Zealand. She is represented in New Zealand by a Governor General. New Zealand is a country that has two official anthems: “God save the Queen” and “God defend New Zealand”.
In New Zealand there are many unique species of animals. Some of them cannot be found anywhere else in the world. The reason for this that New Zealand was cut off from the rest of the land on Earth for 80 million years.
The oldest living kind of reptile is the native New Zealand Tuatara. Tuataras can live up to 300 years. It is estimated that Tuataras can be traced back 190 million years to the Mesozoic era. native bird of New Zealand (the Moa) was one of the largest birds in history – that was up to 3.6m tall and weighed about 300kg. They don´t live anymore because they were hunted by the Maoris.  New Zealand's national symbol is a nocturnal flightless bird that is called the kiwi. The weta is the largest and heaviest insect in the world.
The term ‘Kiwi’ is also used as a nickname for a New Zealander. Complete the table and talk about New Zealand
